UrbanMount strives to maintain a supportive environment for every user. However, if you witness or experience problematic behavior—such as harassment, fraud, or other misconduct—we offer clear channels to make a report and seek assistance.
Identifying Violations
Misconduct can appear in different forms, including unprofessional comments, discriminatory language, threats, or manipulative activities like price gouging or false claims of damage. You may also come across tasks that appear unsafe or unlawful. Our Community Guidelines detail examples of unacceptable behavior, including discriminatory or offensive content, but not all violations are overt. Trust your instincts if you feel uncomfortable or see red flags.
Gathering Information
Before filing a report, collect relevant details. Note conversation logs, service request IDs, or screenshots that illustrate the issue. This supporting information aids our team in investigating thoroughly. If the behavior involves imminent danger or criminal activity, prioritize your safety and contact local authorities. You can always file a separate complaint with UrbanMount afterward.
Submitting a Report
You may file a misconduct report through different channels. The easiest way is via the “Help Center” link in your account menu. Select “Report an Issue”, then follow the prompts to provide your details. Alternatively, you can contact us by email or phone, where available. We ask for specifics—like the date of the incident, a description of what happened, and any evidence you have—to accelerate our review.
What Happens Next
After we receive your report, our support team assigns it to a specialist who conducts an initial review. For more complicated cases, we may request additional screenshots or ask for an interview. We strive to maintain confidentiality and objectivity, but there could be scenarios where we must share some details with the other party for fairness. Our investigation may involve checking chat logs, account histories, and any prior reports. The duration of the review depends on the complexity of the situation.
Potential Outcomes
If we confirm a policy violation, UrbanMount can take several actions, such as issuing a warning, imposing a temporary suspension, or permanently deactivating the offender’s account. In situations involving financial damage, we may withhold or redirect payouts, consistent with our Refund & Cancellation Policy and SafeStay Assurance terms. Some disputes might require third-party mediation, or they may escalate to legal avenues if the damage is substantial. The user who filed the report receives an update once we conclude the investigation, but we may not share all details for privacy reasons.
Retaliation Is Prohibited
We also protect users who report violations in good faith. Retaliatory behavior—like negative reviews posted solely as revenge or intimidation attempts—is itself grounds for disciplinary action. If you suspect retaliation following a report, notify us immediately so we can investigate and ensure your safety.
Important: If you sense a potential violation unfolding, consider declining to proceed until clarity is reached. Document questionable comments or instructions. Early intervention often prevents more serious escalation and demonstrates your commitment to a safe and respectful environment.
