Overview
Urbanmount uses product information from Shopify to help determine which items can be offered with professional installation. In the Partner Dashboard, products, variants, and installation services have different purposes.
These records support the installation experience only. Shopify remains the source of truth for product publication, inventory, purchasing, and fulfillment.
Who this applies to
This article applies to Partners who connect a Shopify store to Urbanmount and manage eligible items in Products in the Partner Dashboard.
Visible meanings
Product
A product is the main item in your catalog, such as a ceiling fan or wall shelf. It usually contains the shared title, description, images, and product page link shown in Shopify.
Variant
A variant is a specific version of a product that a customer can purchase, such as a particular size, color, or finish. Variants may have their own SKU, image, price, and installation eligibility.
Because variants are evaluated separately, installation may be available for one option but not another. Always check the exact variant when investigating what a customer sees.
Installation service
An installation service describes the professional work Urbanmount can offer for an eligible variant. The service shown in the Partner Dashboard may include an installation description and price information. The final offer can also depend on the customer’s location, selected variant, and quantity.
What to expect
A product and its variants can show different statuses. For example, a product may be Active while one variant is still In Review or Paused. A Partial label means the variants do not all share the same visible status.
Product eligibility and location availability are separate checks. An Active label does not guarantee that installation appears for every shopper. The exact selected variant, storefront placement, quantity, customer service location, and any scheduling requirements can affect the experience.
Use stable product and variant identifiers when comparing Shopify with the Partner Dashboard. If titles, descriptions, options, dimensions, images, or other installation-relevant details are inaccurate, correct them in Shopify. Significant catalog changes may return an item to review.
Availability can change, so use the current Partner Dashboard and customer-flow result instead of relying on an older screenshot or manually promising service.
