Pause or Reactivate Products and Variants

Temporarily stop installation offers and restore only the records your Partner controls.

Overview

Use Pause when you want to temporarily stop offering Urbanmount installation for a product or variant. Use Reactivate when you are ready to make it eligible again.

Pausing in Urbanmount does not unpublish the retail product or change its inventory, price, or fulfillment settings in Shopify.


Who this applies to

This article applies to Partners who manage Shopify products in Products in the Partner Dashboard.

Pause the product when installation should stop for all of its variants. Pause only a variant when installation should stop for one specific option, such as a size or finish.


Steps


Pause a product or variant

  1. Sign in to the Partner Dashboard and open Products.

  2. Find the product you want to change.

  3. To pause the whole product, select its Pause action.

  4. To pause one variant, open the product, find the variant, and select Pause for that variant.

  5. Confirm the action if prompted.

  6. Check that the item now shows Paused.


Reactivate a product or variant

  1. In Products, find the Paused product or open it to view its variants.

  2. Select Reactivate for the product or variant you want to restore.

  3. Confirm the action if prompted.

  4. Review the new visible status.

If Reactivate is unavailable:

  1. Confirm that you are signed in to the Partner account for the correct Shopify store.

  2. Check Installation categories in Products. If the relevant category is off, turn the category on instead of changing each product individually.

  3. Confirm that the item is actually Paused. In Review and Unavailable require different next steps.

  4. If the category is enabled and the item still cannot be restored, contact Support instead of creating a duplicate product.


What to expect

A Paused product or variant is excluded from new installation offers. Pausing a product applies to all of its variants; pausing one variant does not pause the other variants.

Disabling an installation category can pause the products and variants matched to that category. Re-enabling it restores only items affected by that category. It does not override another pause or automatically make every variant Active.

After reactivation, the item may become Active or return to In Review if Urbanmount needs to review current product information, including changes made while it was paused. Reactivation makes the item eligible for evaluation, but it does not guarantee that installation appears for every customer. The selected variant, Shopify storefront placement, and service availability for the customer’s location still matter.

If you cannot pause or reactivate an item, contact Support with:

  • Your store domain and the Shopify product page URL

  • The product title and affected variant or SKU

  • The relevant installation category

  • The action you selected and the status shown afterward

  • A screenshot of the button, status, or error message

Do not send store credentials or customer payment information.
