Overview
Storefront placements control where eligible customers can encounter Urbanmount installation in your Shopify store. Choose placements that fit your theme and the point in the shopping journey where you want to introduce installation.
Shopify is the production self-service commerce integration supported by the Partner Dashboard. Enabling a placement in the Partner Dashboard is only the first step; you must also add or enable the corresponding Urbanmount element in the Shopify theme editor.
Who this applies to
This article applies to Partners with the Urbanmount Shopify app installed and permission to edit their Shopify Online Store theme.
Steps
Sign in to the Partner Dashboard and open Placements.
Review the available Shopify placements.
Enable the placement you want to use.
Select its setup guidance, then open Shopify Admin.
Go to Online Store > Themes and select Customize for the theme you intend to publish.
Add the Urbanmount app block to the appropriate product or cart template. If the setup guidance requires the Urbanmount app embed, enable it under Theme settings > App embeds.
Save and publish the intended theme.
Test the placement on the published storefront with an eligible product and variant.
Product page
Use this placement to introduce installation while a customer is viewing a product and selecting a variant. Add the Urbanmount app block to every product template where you want the offer to appear.
Cart or cart drawer
Use this placement to offer installation after customers add eligible products to their cart. A cart-page block can be positioned near the order summary or checkout action. Cart drawers vary significantly by theme and may rely on the app embed.
What to expect
Installation appears only when the selected product or variant is eligible and service is available for the customer’s location. Turning on a placement does not guarantee that it displays for every product or shopper.
Shopify themes can use different layouts and cart behavior. Urbanmount cannot promise compatibility with every theme or cart drawer. Always test the published theme as a customer would. If the placement does not display, contact Support.
